Women in Advertising – Jean Kilbourne

$45Jean Kilbourne is recognized around the world for her pioneering work on the image of women in advertising. In the late 1960s, she began her exploration of the connection between advertising and public health issues. She created the renowned film series Killing Us Softly: Advertising’s Image of Women and authored the award-winning book Can’t buy My Love: How Advertising Changes the Way We Think and Feel. Jean received her BA in English from Wellesley College and a doctorate in education from Boston University. She has received numerous honorary degrees and national awards. Jean is known for her ability to present provocative topics in a way that encourages dialogue and empowers action.
